Two day All India Seminar on Trends in Advanced Building Construction and Innovative Building Materials
Rourkela : The Institution of Engineers (India), Rourkela Local Centre in collaboration with National Institute of Technology Rourkela, conducted a Two Day All India Seminar on Trends in Advanced Building Construction and Innovative Building materials TIABCIBM-2025 at the A N Patel Memorial Conference Hall in the IEI building, NIT Rourkela. On Day 1, the Event was graced by Guest of Honour Shri Bijay Kumar Jojo, Chief General Manager (Town Engg. and Horticulture department), RSP, SAIL; Chief Patron of the seminar Prof. Pradeep Sarkar (Director- In charge);
Er. S.K Polaki, Chairman, Institution of Engineers (india), Rourkela Local Centre; Prof. Dr. Ajit Behera, Honorary Secretary, Institution of Engineers (India), Ar. Abhishek Das, Convenor of the seminar who is an Alumnus of Planning and Department, NIT Rourkela and an Associate member of Indian Institute of Architects, Rourkela Center.
Prof. Ankur Baghel and Prof.Binit Kumar, were the Co- Convenors of the seminar and Assistant Professors of Department of Planning And Architecture, NIT Rourkela.The Inaugural session of the seminar was started by welcoming the guests followed by Lighting of the lamp. Er. S K Polaki welcomed the audience with his welcome speech, followed by the Welcome speech by Ar. Abhishek Das, Convenor of the Seminar.Guest of Honour Shri Jojo, gave his speech on development of Rourkela by SAIL, which also focuses on new trends of construction.
Chief patron, Prof Sarkar, (Director In charge) gave his speech on the theme of the seminar.The Guest were felicitated followed by the vote of thanks by Prof. Ajit Behera . The Inaugural session was witnessed by participants and delegates, Higher authorities of RSP, SAIL, Planning members from Rourkela Municipal Corporation, Rourkela Smart City Limited, Faculties and Professors from different departments of NIT Rourkela, Architects, civil engineers and real estate developers across the city.The event had 10 technical session and presentations, Panel discussion and interactive session with the participants. Exhibition display was also set up by Tata Steel on their new product of Fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) which will an alternative material for reinforcement bars in the future.An exhibition was also displayed by Saanvi Enterprises and their team, where they gave a new VR experience on reshaping the landscape of home interiors with technology.The event was supported by Saanvi Enterprises and Niladri Newtown.The day 2 of the seminar was concluded with the valedictory ceremony.
Ar. Swopnadutta Mohanty, Chairperson of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Odisha chapter and she is an executive committee member of Council of Architecture (COA) was the Chief guest on day 2.
Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, Planning member (retd.) of Rourkela development authority was the Guest of honour at the seminar.
