Vigilance Nabs Rayagada SE with Rs 1.5 Lakh in Unaccounted Cash
Rayagada:- May 28, 2025: In a significant crackdown on corruption, the Odisha Vigilance team apprehended Sahadev Kisan, Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Public Health department in Rayagada, while he was carrying a substantial amount of unaccounted cash.
According to sources, the vigilance team intercepted Kisan’s official Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number OD-18N-7957, as it was suspected to be carrying a large sum of money. Upon inspection, the team found Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, which Kisan failed to justify satisfactorily.
The vigilance team subsequently seized the cash and initiated a thorough investigation into Kisan’s assets. Searches are currently underway at two locations linked to Kisan to uncover potential disproportionate assets.
The case highlights the Odisha Vigilance’s continued efforts to curb corruption and ensure transparency in government departments. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the unaccounted funds and potential links to other illicit activities.
