Rourkela School Chess Championship 2025 held
Rourkela: On the occasion of “International Chess Day” 🅲🆂 🅲🅷🅴🆂🆂 🅲🅴🅽🆃🆁🅴 organized the first ever Bi-Division Rourkela Steel City School Chess Championship 2025 at Chhend. Organized under the patronage of Chandra Sekhar Panda, an internationally rated chess player, coach, organizer and adjudicator, 
more than 250 competitors from different parts of the district including Rourkela applied to participate in this championship. Out of them, 151 competitors were successful in participating. Each player played 7 rounds of chess. In this championship, 15 players were awarded trophies based on their qualifications and results. Similarly, 108 players were awarded trophies as recognition.

In this biennial competition organized in collaboration with All Odisha Chess Association and DSYS, Professor BBVL, Teacher Deepika De, and Dr. Anvesh Mishra of NIT were the chief guests and encouraged the competitors and awarded the winners. In their speeches, the guests expressed their gratitude for such a program of the institute and expressed their opinion that it is a great effort to make the competitors interested in the game of chess.
Among others, Mamatarani Panda, FA Abhishek Acharya, SNA Satyajit Barik, SNA Dinesh Behera, SNA Mainavati Tanti, NA Gurnath Pradhan and NA Lily Maxima Minj contributed in the organization of the major competition. The enthusiasm among the chess players was evident for such a state level chess championship in Rourkela. At the end of the program, the organizer Shri Chandra Sekhar Panda expressed his gratitude and thanks to everyone for the success of the championship.
