Swabhav Swachchta – Sanskaar Swachchta: Walkathon Organised by Waltair Division
Rayagada/VSKP: As part of the ongoing nationwide campaign Swachhata Hi Seva, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway, in association with the ECoR Sports Association-Waltair, organised a Walkathon to spread awareness on cleanliness among employees, passengers, and the general public.
The Walkathon, held under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra, commenced from the Railway Indoor Sports Stadium and concluded at Visakhapatnam Railway Station. A large number of railway officers, employees, and sportspersons actively participated in the event, raising slogans of “Swachh Bharat – Swachh Rail.”
Senior officials present on the occasion included ADRM (Operations) Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Shri Pravin Bhati, Senior Divisional Finance Manager & Sports Officer Shri M. Haranadh, along with other senior officers.
On the occasion, DRM Shri Lalit Bohra administered the Swachhta Pledge and flagged off the Walkathon. Addressing the participants, he said, “Walk for Cleanliness, Walk for Swachh Animi” symbolised the community’s shared commitment to a cleaner and healthier future.
Highlighting the motto “Swabhav Swachchta – Sanskaar Swachchta,” the DRM emphasised that cleanliness is not only about the external environment but also about adopting hygiene as a value and lifestyle. He further added, “Together, we can move towards a cleaner, safer, and healthier Railway for all.”
