Grand Festivities Set to Begin at JK Pur Dussehra 2025
Rayagada :- The much-awaited and sacred Dussehra celebrations of JK Pur in Rayagada district are all set to commence with great fervor and devotion. Under the able leadership of Shri Vinay Dwivedi, Chairman, and Shri Sandeep Pandey, the Puja Committee has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a memorable and spiritually uplifting experience for devotees and visitors alike.
The festivities will begin on Sunday, September 28 with the auspicious Shasthi Puja, followed by Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, and Maha Navami rituals. The grand celebrations will culminate on Vijaya Dashami, October 2, with a series of sacred rituals including Surya Puja, Aparajita Puja, Bilwarchana, Homa, Aarti, and Pushpanjali starting at 7:00 AM. Later, at exactly 1:32 PM, the Purnahuti, Punyahavachan, and Ashirvad rituals will be performed, followed by the much-awaited Ravana Podi (burning of Ravana effigy) symbolizing the eternal victory of good over evil.
Beyond religious rituals, the festival promises a vibrant cultural extravaganza. Visitors will be treated to a wide range of colorful programs including Odia opera, classical dance, folk performances, and high-energy Bollywood musical shows featuring renowned singers. Several cultural troupes from across Odisha and other states have also been invited, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
The JK Paper Mills authorities and the Puja Committee have extended a warm invitation to devotees and tourists from across the district and beyond to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga and witness the lively cultural events. The organizers have assured proper arrangements for devotees’ comfort, security, and smooth conduct of all programs.
With spirituality, tradition, and entertainment coming together, JK Pur’s Dussehra stands as one of the most awaited festivals in southern Odisha, drawing thousands of devotees and tourists every year. This year too, the celebrations are expected to reinforce the spirit of unity, joy, and devotion in the region.
