2nd YUVA summer camp was organized by Patang

Cuttack. The 2nd YUVA summer camp was organized by Patang Organisation from 27th to 31st May by taking 17 students from Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sonepur districts in Jarang village of Sambalpur. Jarang, a habitat of Munda tribes is situated 50km away from the town. The objective of the camp was to make students know more about resources like water, forest, land, animals and human by experiencing the ground realities. The participants also witnessed the relationship between forest and tribal people, how they depend on the forest for their livelihood. Students in the camp donated labour to prepare seed balls for plantation, dug pits for bio-manure preparation, prepared mud huts etc. Doing the mentioned activities they lived the lives of farmers, labourers and developed empathy and respect for them. In the last day of the camp participants and villagers were felicitated by giving certificates and souvenir. Jayamasi, Piyush, Bandhan, Sasmita, Lilima and other villagers took the lead role in completing this camp. Mr Sachidananda Mishra, Mr Pratap Singh Deo, Mr Ashirbaad Mahapatra and Fire department, Jujuomura were thanked by the staffs of Patang and villagers for sharing their knowkedge with participants. Patang’s team members Dibyadarshini, Deepangini, Govinda and Amina supported in facilitating the camp for five days.
