Fatal Road Accident in Bandhugaun Block
Koraput, // A tragic road accident occurred in Koraput, Odisha, last night, resulting in the death of one person and leaving another critically injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims, Yogesh and Shyam were traveling from Rayagada to Nilabadi on a motorcycle to attend the Chaitra Parba festival. As they approached the small Bridge, which is under construction, they failed to notice the diversion and fell from the bridge.
Yogesh succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while Shyam was critically injured and rushed to the Bandhugaon hospital. He was later referred to Visakhapatnam for further treatment.
Local residents have alleged that the construction company had not placed any warning signs or danger boards near the bridge, leading to the accident. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
The incident has raised concerns about the lack of safety measures and inadequate warning systems at construction sites. The authorities have been urged to take immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
