Deomali Cleaned Up After Filmmaker Highlights Trash Issue

Koraput, Odisha: In a recent development, the Deomali hill station in Koraput district has been cleaned up after a prominent filmmaker highlighted the trash issue in the area. The filmmaker, Raja Mauli , had visited Deomali for a film shoot and was appalled by the trash scattered around the hill station.

Following his social media post, the local administration swung into action and organized a cleanliness drive at Deomali. The drive was led by Ramakrushna Nayak, the Block Development Officer of Potangi , and involved the participation of local villagers and government officials.

The cleanliness drive was part of the “Swachh Deomali, Sabuja Deomali” (Clean Deomali, Green Deomali) initiative, which aims to keep the hill station clean and green. However, locals say that more needs to be done to address the issue of trash and pollution in the area.

They demand stricter measures to prevent littering and pollution, and to ensure that the hill station remains clean and green throughout the year. If not, they fear that Deomali’s reputation will suffer further.
