Rayagada Forest Fire: 1000 Hectares of Forest Land Affected in First 5 Months

Rayagada: The scorching heat has led to a surge in forest fires in Rayagada, with over 1000 hectares of forest land affected in the first five months of the year. The fires have ravaged several protected forests, destroying valuable trees and threatening the lives of wildlife.

According to satellite data, 2063 forest fire incidents have been reported in the district, with the fires affecting a significant area of forest land. The situation is alarming, and locals are worried about the impact on the environment and wildlife.

The forest department has been criticized for not taking adequate measures to prevent and control the fires. Despite repeated incidents of forest fires, the department seems to be taking the situation lightly, and locals are concerned about the long-term consequences

Forest fires have become a recurring problem in Rayagada, with the situation worsening every year. The fires not only destroy valuable trees but also affect the local ecosystem and wildlife. The department’s lack of proactive measures has exacerbated the situation, and locals are demanding action to prevent and control forest fires.

The Rayagada DFO, Sachin Anna Saheb Ohal, has stated that the forest department is taking measures to create awareness and control forest fires. Firefighting teams have been deployed to douse the flames, and efforts are being made to prevent further incidents.

The situation demands immediate attention and action to prevent further damage to the forest and its inhabitants.
