Majhigouri Carpenter Workers Union Organizes Plantation and Helmet Awareness Drive in Rayagada

Rayagada, August 1: – In a commendable step towards environmental sustainability and public safety, the Sri Majhigouri Carpenter Workers Union organized a large-scale plantation and helmet awareness program in various areas of Rayagada town.

The initiative was carried out across different key locations including the Rayagada City Police Station, Majhi Gouri Temple premises, Railway Station, and Sai Priya Nagar Market Yard. The union’s members planted saplings to enhance green cover and spread awareness about the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers.

The event was led by Union President Sri Kadha Srinivas Rao, Vice President Sri Anath Kumar, and Secretary P. Gouri Shankar Rao. Other notable union leaders who actively participated included A. Satyanarayana, A. Polraju, and Ch. Sombabu. Several other committee members were also present during the campaign, contributing to both the plantation and awareness activities. Speaking on the occasion, the union leadership emphasized the dual objective of the drive — promoting eco-consciousness through tree plantation and ensuring road safety through helmet use. They appealed to the public, especially youth and daily commuters, to take both environmental protection and road safety seriously.

This initiative marks a strong step towards civic responsibility and community involvement by the workers’ union, inspiring others to take similar steps in building a greener and safer Rayagada.
