Waltair Division Observes “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” to Mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary
Rayagada /Visakhapatnam, October 31:The Waltair Division of East Coast Railway observed “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrated across the nation as National Unity Day.
To mark the occasion, a Unity Pledge was administered by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Lalit Bohra to all staff, supervisors, and officers at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office. Addressing the gathering, Shri Bohra highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing its role in strengthening national integrity and fostering a spirit of togetherness among railway employees.
The event was also attended by Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Shri E. Santharam, ADRM (Operations) Shri K. Rama Rao, and Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Shri Jusuf Kabir Ansari, who reiterated the importance of unity and teamwork in nation-building.
Speaking on the occasion, DRM Shri Saurabh Prasad paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, describing him as a dynamic statesman whose vision and determination were instrumental in the unification of India.
As part of the observance, a Unity Walkathon was organized from the DRM Office to Visakhapatnam Railway Station. The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and staff, symbolizing their collective commitment to the ideals of national unity and integrity.
