Koraput Representative Marks One Year of Deliverables in Lok Sabha

 Rayagada :- In a significant milestone, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, the representative of Koraput in the 18th Lok Sabha, has completed one year in office, delivering several key projects and initiatives for the constituency. Here are the highlights of his achievements

The Rayagada Railway Division and Gunupur-Therubali Railway Line have been completed, and a survey is underway for the Gopalpur-Singapur Road (Rayagada) Railway Project. The Vande Bharat Train is now operational, and train stoppages have been implemented at Ambadola, Muniguda, Therubali, Kotpad, and Laxmipur.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Jeypore has been sanctioned, and all approved EMRS (Eklavya Schools) in Koraput have been included in the implementation schedule. Over ₹500 crores have been sanctioned for CUO, Koraput, for infrastructure expansion. Additionally, demands for Jhodia ST recognition and Soura language inclusion in the 8th Schedule have been escalated to the Hon’ble President

A total of 1,462 mobile towers have been commissioned for rural coverage across Odisha, and mobile connectivity issues in remote pockets are being resolved on priority.

550 PMGSY roads have been approved for construction across the region, and over 120 damaged PMGSY roads under NBCC have been taken up for repair and upgradation.

Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka has raised 84 questions and participated in 56 debates, focusing on issues like Pollavoram, Kotia, Mahanadi, women’s safety, and tribal rights. He has chaired 26 meetings of the Standing Committee on Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and reviewed implementation in several states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Odisha. 

Ulaka serves as AICC In-Charge for Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. He played a key role in supporting Congress-led Government formation in Jharkhand and has been entrusted with growing responsibilities within the Party across various states.

The representative has expressed gratitude to the people of Koraput for their trust and support, reaffirming his commitment to delivery and dedication to the constituency’s development. Koraput is considered a bastion of the Indian National Congress, having won this seat for a record 16 times out of 18 elections ¹.
