Youths in Kantabanji Make Waves with Cow Service
Kantabanji, : The Gou Seva Sangh Kantabanji Trust, led by President Manoj Chinagun, is making a significant impact in the community with their selfless service to stray cows. The trust provides free medical treatment and medication to injured and ailing cows, earning praise and admiration from the community.
The trust’s members, including Manoj Chinagun, Anup Kumar Sharma, Raghunath Banchhor, Debendra Sandh, Shatrughan Gahir, Chotu Bag, Uma Banchhor, and Gopal Sharma, work tirelessly to care for stray animals. The trust’s women’s wing, led by Nandini Pande, also plays a vital role in the initiative. Other members of the women’s wing include Anita Bag, Rinu Chinagun, Anju Tandi, Amrita Banchhor, Simran Kaur, Neha Sagar, and Manju Tandi.
The trust provides shelter to stray cows, oxen, and calves on their own land and hands them over to their owners after care. With support from an animal hospital, they receive 80% of the medication. This partnership has enabled the trust to provide quality care to a larger number of animals.
The trust’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. Recently, the Odisha Journalists Union, Balangir branch, honored the trust in a ceremony attended by Rajya Sabha MP Niranjan Bisi , recognizing their noble work. This recognition is a testament to the trust’s dedication and commitment to animal welfare.
