The Pride & Glory of Kendrapada District – Shri Deepak Choudhury Declared as Disaster Ambassador.
Cuttack : A grand ceremony was organized at the Red Cross Bhavan Bhubaneswar under the joint auspices of the Indian Institute of Youth Development and the World Youth Centre,New Delhi.
The primary objective of this event was to honor and encourage individuals who have dedicated their lives selflessly for the welfare of society,often risking their own lives for humanitarian causes.Hundreds of volunteers from Odisha, Kolkata,Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand,Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh participated in this mega event.The program was graced by Shri Uday Shankar Singh, Chief Director of the World Youth Centre,New Delhi, and Shri Purna Chandra Mishra,Director of the Indian Institute of Youth Development.The Chief Guest,Dr. Srikant Mahapatra, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, New Delhi,highlighted the significant contributions of volunteers during natural disasters,emphasizing how they put their own lives at risk to serve others. He also spoke in detail about the importance of maintaining hygiene before meals and consuming safe drinking water.On this special occasion, the proud son of Kendrapada District, Shri Deepak Kumar Choudhury, was officially declared as a “Disaster Ambassador” and was presented with a certificate and a trophy in recognition of his dedicated service. Following this announcement, intellectuals from various circles in Kendrapada, as well as people from different parts of the state, extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Shri Choudhury for this remarkable achievement.
